Second Quarter 2008 Meeting -- Lair No. 3

Lair No. 3 met on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at the Barr farm in Ringoes, New Jersey. The meeting was a repeat performance of the previous quarter's Mass Challenge meeting.

Among those present the meeting were:

  • Eddie Barnett
  • Jim Barr
  • Karl Halter
  • Michael Moscherosch
  • John Calvin Morrison
  • Dan Morrison
  • Dan Mundy
  • Tom Onka.
  • Michael Moscherosch gave the first presentation of the evening regarding the French patent of a certain amphibious bicycle. Eddie Barnett displayed his antique smoking stand, in which was hidden copies of Tobacco Road. Karl Halter displayed his Japanesque head-mounted-toilet-paper-dispenser. Dan Mundy revealed the secrets of a patent held by George Washington Carver for a cosmetic powder made of soybeans. Dan Morrison presented his The Cold Spring Road Mystery. And Jim Barr wrapped things up with a discussion of the disastrous 1955 hurricane season, which removed the bridge at Point Pleasant, Pennsylvania.

Initial balloting produced a tie between Michael Moscherosch and Dan Morrison. A subsequent run-off election again produced a tie between Moscherosch and Morrison. And so the matter was settled by an arm-wrestling contest, which was won by Dan Morrison, who therewith took his third Mass Challenge win.
